[Please refer to the updated list in this November 2018 blog post, Create a Free Website for Your Church.]

American Bible Society’s mission is to make the Bible available to every person in a language and format each can understand and afford, so all people may experience its life-changing message. And from 1999-2013, American Bible Society (ABS) launched and operated ForMinistry.com to enable churches and ministries to create their own website with a free, easy-to-use web builder, as a digital channel for Bible engagement. Now there are many other good and affordable options for making a church website.

When ABS phased down ForMinistry.com’s operations, it recommended these 2 church-friendly website building platforms: OurChurch.com (free & paid) and SiteOrganic.com (paid only), because of their platform’s features and customer support.

(Note that the options listed above does not necessarily mean an endorsement nor recommendation; these are provided as a starting point for your research.)

The significant responsibility involved in launching a church website does require understanding and learning about website basics, like: domain name registration, web hosting, content management system, adding & editing content, web design and other features. Building a website and selecting the right platform does require someone with basic computer literacy.

Does your church love the Bible?

There's no better way to show your church's love for the Bible than to have it in your web address using a .BIBLE domain name. This is even more compelling if you're a church or a fellowship that has the word Bible in the name. For example, if your church is Anytown Bible Fellowship, you can see how strong of a digital identity you'd have with a domain name like Anytown.Bible for your church website.

Churches and Christian ministry organizations can now register .BIBLE domain names that are more useful, memorable, and meaningful - register your .BIBLE domain names at any accredited registrar >>
