Why Is The Bible Relevant Today? We Have All of September To Find Out.

Posted on July 25, 2017 by .BIBLE Registry Categories: Examples, Social Media

A movement began last year called #WhyBible, which was designed to spark a conversation about why the Bible matters. A lot of people around the world today don’t believe in the power and relevance of the Bible or feel like it’s important anymore. That’s why Wycliffe Bible Translators USA started the campaign.

Individuals and organizations are invited to join the worldwide conversations on social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by using the hashtag #WhyBible. The campaign starts on September 1, 2017 and will continue for the entire month of September.

Why.Bible is the website with free resources to help prepare you to participate.

For individuals, Why.Bible has created a collection of resources that’ll help you get started with the campaign! If the Bible has changed your life, then your story matters. And you can help the Bible come alive for someone again — or maybe even for the first time. Be sure to share your story during the #WhyBible campaign! Whether you already know the Bible verses or stories you want to share, or you’re not sure where to begin, download the free resource kit at why.bible/individuals.html.

For organizations, whether you’re a church, nonprofit, campus ministry, business or a small group, you make a difference in the lives of people you engage with. Why.Bible has created a resource kit to help brainstorm ideas for this year’s campaign! The resource kit includes: shareable logos and graphics, social media tips, promotional ideas and more. Jump start your planning by downloading the official #WhyBible Resource Kit for Organizations at why.bible/organizations.html.

How can your participation make a difference? Research has shown that when non-Christians increased their Bible reading, they often did so as a result of seeing how engagement with the Scriptures changed someone they knew. Statistically speaking, people are more likely to respond positively to the Bible not when it’s preached at them, but when they hear how it’s changing lives. This is the reason that #WhyBible is an important discussion to have.

We here at the .BIBLE Registry will be following the hashtag #WhyBible this September and hope to see your posts and your stories there!
