Where do you get the latest news about new gTLDs (generic Top-Level Domains)? New gTLDs are being delegated (almost) every week for the rest of 2014 and well into 2015. There are some new gTLDs that are particularly meaningful for a specific niche topic, like: .PHOTOGRAPHY, .BERLIN, .TRAINING, .BIKE, and of course .BIBLE . There are also other new gTLDs that could be used for generically for any topic, like: .LINK, .CLUB, .TIPS, .TODAY, .BUZZ.

With over 250+ new gTLDs delegated already (at the time of this post), there could be a lot of information to wade through. I noticed this question asked on Quora: What’s going on with new gTLDs? I’m finding it very difficult to get any decent information about the new gTLDs that are being released. Thought it’d be helpful to share this list of top blogs with good info about new gTLDs that we’re following—

  • Domaining.pro - blog for professional domainers with a focus on new gTLDs
  • DomainNameWire.com - news source for the domain name industry by industry experts (Editor Andrew Allemann)
  • TheDomains.com - industry news site by domain name experts since 2007, described as “the leading source for domain information and discussion” (Editor-in-Chief Michael H. Berkens)
  • OnlineDomain.com - domain name news (by Konstantinos Zournas)
  • NEWSgTLDs.com - a curated aggregator blog with the latest links to articles about new gTLDs
  • gTLD.club - multi-author op-ed team blog with an open invite for additional authors
  • blog.guillon.com - personal blog of Jean Guillon, new gTLD Evangelist & Consultant at Jovenet Consulting

For official information, ICANN New gTLDs’ website at newgtlds.icann.org is essential. And for current data and statistics, track with the dashboards at namestat.org and ntldstats.com

Of course, this list is not comprehensive. There may well be other informative blogs focused on new gTLDs that we’re not aware of. Please add a comment to share them here, ok?
