Speakers of the most widely-used language in Tanzania have access to the Scriptures at Tanzanian.Bible.

Swahili is the national language of Tanzania, which has made it the most widely used language in comparison to other languages spoken in the country.

In the past decade, as many individuals in Tanzania became connected to the Internet, the opportunity opened up to create a digital .BIBLE site to connect tens of thousands of people to the online Bible in their heart language.

The Tanzanian.Bible site encourages site visitors to “Read the Bible For Yourself,” and then connects them to the searchable Scriptures on the site, carefully translated in the Swahili language for the Tanzanian audience.

The Work of the Bible Associations

It’s exciting to see the work of the Bible associations around the world. The Bible Society of Tanzania aims to make sure every Tanzanian has access to the word of God in their own language and at a price that they can afford. In addition to Bibles in Swahili, there are also five translation projects that are in print: Russian, Kochi, Kyrgyz, Broken and Datooga Bible translations.

Another exciting resource at Tanzanian.Bible is the movie The Life of the Lord Jesus Christ, available in Swahili. This and other online resources can be accessed on the site.
