The Bible in Australian Sign Language at Auslan.Bible

Imagine the joy of finding the Bible in your heart language. Now imagine if your heart language was a sign language, and the Bible you found was accessible and free.

Auslan.Bible shares the Scriptures in Australian Sign Language. This important effort is part of the Digital .BIBLE Project that is ending Bible poverty by launching Bible websites in first languages.

Did you know the majority of the world is now connected to the Internet, yet 1.2 billion people do not have access to the Bible in their own language? There shouldn't be a digital divide when it comes to the Bible.

Sites like Auslan.Bible are closing the divide by offering the Scriptures to Australian deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in their preferred language. Users simply sign up for a free account and receive access to the content, which consists of expert signers communicating the Bible text.

Offered through a partnership between Bible Society Australia, American Bible Society and United Bible Societies, the Auslan project offers clear and engaging videos of expert signers.

At Auslan.Bible, users will find:

  • The book of Genesis
  • The Law and Promise: the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, signed in Auslan
  • John, Acts, Galatians, Romans and Gospels
  • Portions of Titus
  • What Christians Believe video, which explains the history of God’s work in the world, the salvation of a loving God, and the work of the Holy Spirit.

When signing up, users can opt in and receive newsletters and updates, and become notified as more sections of Scripture are made available. Also offered is a sign-up for daily Bible readings and the invitation to download the Bible Society Australia monthly prayer letter.
