What happened to your .BIBLE Domain Names pre-registered?

Since .BIBLE domain names became available to the general public on March 8, 2016, we here at the .BIBLE Registry occasionally hear from people who had pre-registered .BIBLE domain names asking about the pre-registration service. We were very encouraged by the interest expressed by thousands of people that did pre-register domains. For those that did pre-register and setup a free account, we were able to send email notifications about the launch schedule for .BIBLE domain names.

What was the pre-registration process—

 In preparation for launching the .BIBLE top-level domain, the .BIBLE registry provided a free pre-registration service for the public to express their interest in .BIBLE domain names and to help raise awareness of this new digital neighborhood that was coming to the Internet.

Benefits of the free .BIBLE pre-registration service:

  • People could create accounts and save a watch list of .BIBLE domains of interest
  • People who created accounts were among the first to be notified about the launch timeline and availability of .BIBLE domain name registration
  • People could check if certain .BIBLE domain names were unavailable due to ICANN regulations
  • People could check if certain .BIBLE domain names were popular or not. If a domain name is popular, people could consider adding extra .BIBLE domain names to their watch list, so you they’d have a better chance of getting a domain name of interest.
  • People were subscribed to the .BIBLE email newsletter for news and updates (with ability to unsubscribe at any time)

What .BIBLE pre-registration was not:   

  • People were under no obligation to register any .BIBLE domain names
  • People are not automatically registered for .BIBLE domain names
  • Information collected was not used to artificially inflate pricing of domain names nor solicitation

What you can do now:

  • Check the availability of .BIBLE domain names and register .BIBLE domain names at any accredited .BIBLE registrar of your choice (on a first-come first-served basis)
